The day is here, dinner at Christopher's!! A surprise I didn't see coming was the kids were going with us to share our birthday dinner at Christopher's.
The restaurant had a perfect ambiance for families and couples. The wait staff were very good with the kids. Of course we were the only ones with kids in the restaurant. The bread was perfect, the appetizers were delightful, the salads were light and airy, and the main course was my favorite. I had the stuffed flounder with a Louisiana spin that wasn't over spicy for me. Then we tried every dessert.
The night was perfect. The kids tried really hard to be good but they are a hot mess! I do have to say they looked beautiful. I don't know if it was because we were all dressed up or if it was because we were eating somewhere really fancy but all three of the kids were happy, happy, happy! Thomas, Landon and Payce loved the food, the waiters and especially loved spending time with Granny, Pawpaw, Matt and I. We had so much fun talking about all different topics and no one used their phone except me and I only used it to take pictures. I know that is hard to believe.
I have been so blessed to get to really know the Martin's these last few years. They are the most practical people I know, so there splurge was a little shocking. I wish everyday I could be more like them. I try and go over to their house twice a week and help with anything they need. The truth is they have been married 45 years in August and they complete each other. They don't need me but I go anyway to give Tommy a hard time. Their life would be boring without me checking on them a couple of times a week. I'm sure of it.
I'm blessed everyday to have had a opportunity to get to know them. They have helped me more then they will ever know by being understanding, loving, and kind when some days I'm sure I didn't make it easy. I think after 17 years I'm finally growing on them. God blessed me with great in laws that I'm honored to call Dad and Mom.
