A late night trip to Bryan College station with one theme song in mind, Bartender by Lady A. You know words, It is 8 o'clock on Friday night... So just like the song we did headed out of town for dinner, fun and dancing at 8pm. I'm a firm believer to have good friends you have to be a good friend. One of my friends, Bridgett is having a rough time so we convinced her to come out with us, thus the reason for the theme song. We went to dinner at Willie's. It was very good. Matt and I like to take the kids there. Light conversation and great food made for a fabulous time.
I have been wanting to go to The Escape Room in BCS all month and they had an opening on Friday the 13th. Facebook said it was a full moon making it the perfect time to go. The reservations were at 11pm. We soon found out it was not a full moon. Even though Facebook lied about that it was still Friday the 13th. At least we got that right! The excitement that built up to us going to the Escape Room was contagious but we were soon to be very let down. It was really hard, we did a lot of thinking and it was very stressful. We failed miserably. At one point I looked around the room, we were all laying on the floor and Matt was the only one really trying to figure it out. I wouldn't recommend this to old people, parents or anyone that has been drinking. We were over it after the first 15 minutes. You know as I was laying on the floor thinking this is so stupid I couldn't help but think how hard it is to not only find time for friends but to have great couple friends and one side kick is even harder. It may have been very late on Friday at this point and we were locked in a room for an hour and wasted our money on escaping a fake deadly disease but we made time for each other in our crazy, busy life.
After we left there we headed to Rookie's. I had never been there and didn't really want to go because I had a terrible headache but the group wanted to go and Matt loves to dance and Bridgett loves to dance. That made it a win, win! We ended up having the best time. I wanted to dance on the stage that was on the dance floor so bad. I did lay on it and Matt danced around me. The last song of the night was Gary Allen, All I want to be is her man. I always say that is our song.
Most of you already know we go to marriage counseling once a month. What I realized at that bar Friday evening is we just need to go to the bar once a month because this day in time it is way to hard to be single. Being single means getting all dressed up, driving out of town, finding baby sitters and hanging out late at night, knowing your kids will be up wanting breakfast at 8 am. Nobody wants that life! Being single sucks I'm sure but, there has to be a good reason couples call it quits. Back to the bar story. It has been years since I have heard the bartender say "last call." Even though what we really needed was "a double shot of crown" we had to settle for water and coffee at IHOP. Oh being responsible adults sometimes sucks!
We made it home at 3:54am and I had to be at work at 9 am to work at the Flea Festival from 9-1. Thomas had Confirmation at 5 pm in Mexia. Lets just say this mom rocked today on four hours sleep.
